We use Drosophila, focusing on the female reproductive tract, as a model to study mechanisms that regulate female fertility and reproductive aging, with an emphasis on how they influence newborn and adult health. We seek to determine the relationship between reproduction, aging and extracellular vesicles biogenesis.
This is extremely exciting because extracellular vesicles (secreted membrane-bound, nanosized vesicles) highlight a new level of intercellular communication and regulation about which very little is known.
